Easter Day

EASTER

I actually almost forgot about coloring eggs, so I let him stay up a little late friday night because I knew we were going to be busy till really late Saturday.

The Easter Bunny made an appearance!

Braxton kept asking for all these things when we were at the store and I kept saying no the Easter bunny might bring it and if he doesn't then we will come back and get it. Well he got the idea that he needed to write the Easter bunny a letter, just like Santa. So I gave him a piece of paper and told him to draw pictures of what he wanted. He did and he was even kind enough to include a squishy toy for Logan. He asked for bubbles, a watch, and a kite. Then we took the letter, folded it up and stuck it in a giant egg and put it in the flower bed outside. Well, the next morning we went out and got the egg and his letter was gone! :)

Easter Morning came and he got a Bumblebee Transformers kite, Mickey Mouse watch and a big bottle of bubbles!

 And Logan even got a squishy fish toy!

 The easter bunny even hid eggs around the front room too! He was pretty excited.

 After church we went to Brandon's Parents where after dinner we had a egg hunt for the younger kids.

With all the practice Brax had with trial runs and 2 previous hunts HE WAS PRO.

The yummy little cheesecake filled strawberry cupcakes that I brought for dessert.

 And my sweet baby showing off his new shirt.

 On Easter believe it or not there was no wind whatsoever. Shocking for Idaho. So a few days later we went back to Nana and Grandpa's and he learned how to fly his kite.

Little of this, little of that

 Braxton was so good during conference. It was so cute when Pres. Monson came on, he looked at him and then said "I thinking.....wait a minute!"  Took off running out of the room and came back with his picture, placed it next to the TV and pulled the high chair in front of the TV and listened to his whole talk.

And this is what I did during the first session on Sunday so they were ready to go for the second session. He loves them and they fit great in the diaper bag for church.

 Poor kid got scratched (I think by his brother, not intentionally), Brandon's been calling him Harry Potter.

Brandon and I enjoyed a fun date night at Glenn Miller Night.

 My Mom gave me her piano! So excited to start playing again.

 I walked in on him giving lucky piano lessons, oh my.

Easter Egg Hunt with friends

I decided after talking to a few friends in my ward that I was going to put on a egg hunt just for the tiny ones 4yrs and under, So I made up some flyers and went around and invited about 20 kids that I knew wouldn't cause problems and asked the parents to provide me with 20 stuffed plastic eggs the night before. It had been beautiful weather for about a week or so and was supposed to be nice for easter too. Well the morning before the hunt we woke up to this.

So when afternoon finally hit and I realized that the snow was not going to melt at the park in time for the hunt the next morning. Then I went out and shoveled my entire front yard so that we could have the hunt there.

Trial run easter egg hunts! 

I do this every year, it's just a fun way to pass away some afternoons and get him ready for the real deal on that saturday morning when the devil comes out in some kids.

I don't know what the pose is for, LOL, but it was pretty funny.

Braxton decided that we needed to go on some egg hunts too so he repeatedly took a basket full and went out and hide them.

The dogs even got to go on a fun little egg hunt. I got the idea from a friend and they were in heaven fighting over eggs.  I put some cut up hot dogs in about 10 eggs and then went out and hid them in the grass. I kept one for them to smell so that they knew there was stuff inside them. I opened the door and threw the test egg out the door and off they went after it, cracked it open and then lucky figured it out and went off in search of more eggs.

Logan even had fun playing with eggs while I stuffed them.

We made special treats for our friends that came to the hunt and every kid got a balloon too!

So glad I shoveled the yard.

She was pretty excited, but Brax would not let her pass.

We were waiting for one more person that brought eggs so I grabbed the wagon and put the kids who couldn't hold still in the wagon and let Brax pull them around in circles.

We had six kiddos come to have some fun, we would of had more but that weekend was graduation and the start of spring break too. I know that 7 kids we invited were busy or out of town with that kind of stuff. But six was perfect and everyone had a good time.

 On your marks, get set, GO!

 These sweet kids, a hunt that should of taken 60 seconds max. took a good 5-10 minutes. 

Some kids were only picking up candy, some only eggs, some only specific colors. It was so funny.

 Every kids basket looked like this and all the parents said that they wanted to do this again next year. It was relaxed and fun for all the kids and parents included.

Silly side note on my kid. I had put out six "special" eggs in the shape of chicks and carrots. those were prize eggs. I told Braxton to get one of those eggs so that he could get a balloon. I didn't understand why he ran all over the place when the hunt started but by the end I knew why. He ran and found all but one of the "special" eggs. He was so proud of himself. LOL!

 So that idea went out the window and everyone received a prize (balloon and rice krispy cupcake).
