Dallas and Shelby's Wedding

Just a couple days after we arrived back in Rexburg after an extremely long painful costly drive from Texas, Brandon's brother Dallas got married. I was only able to snap a few pics seeing that I had a very grumpy child who would not sit still to save his life.

For the few pics I did get here they are:
All the brothers from left to right...
Jason, Ryan, Dallas, Tyler, Brandon, Tanner, and Austin
The Bride and Groom with his parents (my in-laws)
He was being such a punk! I was so tired of him not smiling for anything. so I tried to make him smile but that barely even worked.

I got this pic from Brandon's parents camera

Pictures from after the luncheon was over
Brax and his Uncles Tanner and Austin and Aunt Elissa

Brax and Dad being silly while mom is trying to get a good picture.

A week later, they had their reception and open house. I catered the reception and made the wedding cake. I would have been just fine but there were some complications with having to wait for the dumb cable one guy for our internet hook up for six hours, (we won't go into that though) and the shopping trip that took 3 hours longer than planned. So I was 9 hours short on my schedule. But with a lot of help from Brandon's mom and sister we got it done. I will not try to shove so much into so little time next time I get asked to do something like this.

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

Carved Watermelons with 2 different dips

Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Brownie
Mini Peanut Butter Filled Cupcakes

One of the three pies
Caramel Mud Pie

No one had decorated their car by the open house so Brandon and Sherisse took it upon themselves to do so. They toilet papered it and put cool whip on it too. That was fine, but then Brandon got a little mean when the keys were denied him to TP the inside. So then came out the marshmallows and cement blocks.  It was a last minute job. If I weren't so busy with all the food in the kitchen I would have had balloons streamers and paint pens for them.

The Move Home!

An empty apartment!
That's what we like to see, poor Braxton was so confused as to why we were packing up everything again.

Big smiles as we set out on what is was to be the longest drive we've ever taken.
As the first day was coming to an end we had to have a treat so he got to have a push pop.

About 7:30pm on our first day of driving, we were going to through a small town and I don't know how I saw it, but I asked Brandon to pull over cause I thought I saw something funny on the tire.  So we both pulled over I got out and looked where I thought I saw something and low and behold there was a huge bubble on the inside of one of the trailer tires. It had gotten so hot that day (110 degrees) that the pressure in the tire was about to explode.

Brandon left me and Brax with the trailer took my car to see if he could find somewhere in the tiny town that had the tire we needed.
Every time we got out of the car I had Brax stretch with me and taught him how to do jumping jacks. So here he is stretching, it was pretty cute.

While we were waiting for Brandon a friendly cat came to play with Brax.
Unfortunately  the tire we needed was no where to be found. So we carefully and slowly made the 50 mile drive to the next big city that might have a chance at having the tire we needed.

Silly faces in the dark car while waiting for Brandon to find us a hotel for the night.

Happy little boy eating Denny's in the hotel

After a good nights rest and no luck in finding the tire we needed, we journeyed on praying that we could make it with out a blow out.  Brandon took the pressure of the tire when we stopped that night and it was at 40, the next morning he took it and it had cooled down to 20!

We did see some pretty cool dust devils on our way through northern Texas.

I glanced back at Braxton and saw him eating his pringles by the handful! LOL

We had to stop and fill up the car so I let Brax play for about 10 minutes while I stretched and ate my lunch.

He was so funny in finding ways to entertain himself

Brax and I went ahead of Brandon on the second day and right before we hit Rock Springs, WY Brandon called me and asked me to wait for him and that he had a strange feeling.
So we waited a few hours in Rock Springs for him to arrive, we ate McDonalds and watched a Redbox.

The next morning we set out early and the feeling brandon had was revealed. 20 miles away from Jackson our tire blew.
Luckily I was with him, where it blew out neither one of us had cell service. So we jumped in my car and drove the 20 miles to Jackson, WY and thankfully there was a tire place that had the exact tire we needed.

While we were waiting for the tire to be put on the rim Braxton insisted on having a picture with the M&Ms

Then back in the car and on our way home!!

It was so pretty to see Palisades completely full and everything green!

As we were headed home, we took the route that lead us through Ririe (where I grew up) and I decided that since it had been over two years since I had been to the cemetery, that I would stop for a few minutes at my dads headstone. I wanted to get a nice picture of Braxton, but all he could think about was playing in the sprinklers behind him.

When we arrived home we were able to get some of our old neighbors to help us move in. We also learned that our yard was like a jungle. It was so bad that Brandon wanted to get it cleaned up the next morning. (if he wanted to get it done then you know it was really bad). We also learned that there was a small leak that we were untold of and had sat for a month while the house was vacant. We had to pull up our carpet in a quarter of our living room and put fans out for a few days to dry up all the wood. Our kitchen floor is destroyed, along with our laundry room. So as soon as harvest is over Brandon gets to do some home repairs.

The next morning when we were cleaning up the yard I started trimming around a bush/tree that had sprouted over the past two years in the middle of our yard and was now well over 7-8ft tall. The lady bugs were unbelievable! This picture doesn't do it justice.
Sadly Braxton got a time out shortly after this discovery. It was Brandon's fault but Brax's reaction is what got him trouble. Brax was bent over looking at all the bugs and Brandon pushed his bum and made him fall face first into the pile of lady bugs! Daddy did get in trouble, but Brax was so mad he ran over kicked Brandon as hard as he could, which resulted in a time out and apology from both parties involved.
We also discovered that our fridge had died in the month that it was vacant, luckily we found one on craigslist for $50 the next morning. Brandon borrowed his dad's truck and picked it up that afternoon. After it was in the house, Brax requested that I take a picture of the boys on the truck.

One more fun play date

The day started off  just fine and we were headed to the pool to meet our friends for on last time swimming before moved. Well, the pool was closed to what I can only assume was a broken filter pump or something cause the water was a nasty dark green.  So we decided to drive to a splash pad about 15 minutes away that we had heard of. The kids had so much fun, it was much better than the pool.

Brax was a little skeptical at first and said that it was cold, but soon got over it.

Waiting for the water to turn off so he could push the button and turn it back on.
The place cleared out soon after we got there so the kids had the whole park to themselves.

This kid just cracks me up!
I asked for a smile and this is what he gave me.

Close to the end the buckets of water that fall on top of them didn't seem so scary and was one of the favorite things to do. I think it was more the anticipation of waiting for the water to fall on them and not knowing when it was coming.
I love this picture, Braxton was clueless to why Ashlyn was screaming and then BAM!
This was his reaction when he came up to me, he wasn't expecting it and the water ripped his shorts half way off when it hit him.

It was a perfect way to end our summer in Texas.
