Braxton's Valentines Crafts

I was in a crafty mood so I got our my craft stuff started looking around and then called brax over to make some Valentines.
We started with "The Heart Man" he was pretty proud of this one by the time we were done. He put the glue dots on for the eyes, which I had to make a little bigger.
 But he applied the eyes!

 And the Nose!

Then I told him to draw a mouth and gave him a pen, he did so amazingly well I was shocked!
He knew exactly where and how to draw it.

I put the legs on for him and he helped me bend them.
but then he insisted that we put large sequins on the the feet and hands, so we did.
Then I applied a thin line of glue around the edges and then gave him the glitter and oh boy did he go to town!

Now we just had to wait for the glue to dry...
So we started on the next project, I had some hearts cut out for him with he then pasted on the paper.
He put a huge glob of glue on the paper so I moved it around to look like a heart and then gave him more glitter. He loved the glitter.
Patting it down so it would stick well.

then time for more glue dots and sequin flowers
 Little pom poms too!
 All finished!!!
The little squirt wanted to hide behind his crafts for the pics. what a cute silly!
His heart was finally dry so I cleaned off the excess glitter and gave it to him.
Later, we hot glued magnets on the back and stuck them on the fridge!
Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines!

This year Brandon surprised me with a weekend trip to Tempe. He got us a hotel and had a night planned with a delicious dinner, night at the dueling pianos. Dinner was so yummy. I decided to be adventurous and try something new. So I tried the Tempura Fried Avocado with Lobster Mélange, It was half an avocado lightly battered and fried topped with a variety of lobster chunks. This was laying on top of a plate of fried fresh spinach! Fried Spinach! who'd a thought to ever fry fresh spinach but it was amazing! I am definitely going to make it at home. Brandon got the Gorgonzola New York Strip Steak, the Gorgonzola sauce was not an appropriate choice top off a steak, Brandon ate it but it wasn't the best the steak had a dry texture. His sides were yummy though, he got a potato cake (which we will make at home, it was awesome!) and steamed zucchini which he gave to me cause he does not like zucchini.
While we were at the Dueling pianos I wanted to get a picture, he blinked! Then he wouldn't let me take another one so this is the best I got.

On our way on Sunday afternoon we got stuck in the middle of nowhere for two hours because of an accident. There were so many people saying different things about what happened. In the paper a few days later the story came out. It turns out a homemade trailer became unhitched and veered off into the other lane and collided head on with a mini van carrying a recruit for the San Carlos Police Dept and a lady friend and her son. There were two helicopters who came to take the lady and son to the hospital, but sadly the police recruit died on impact.

By the time we arrived home sunday night we went to pick up Braxton at a friends house. He didn't even care that I was there!!! It upset me a little but at the same time I was relieved that he had done so well for his first sleep over. He went to bed when they asked him to and ate for them also!  What a little punk! I have to fight him the majority of nights to go to bed and to eat. He had such a fun time there.  I went to drop him off on  Tuesday for a few hours so that I could go to Relief Society and when i came to get him he told me no and then jumped on the couch and said " I sleep." It was funny.

I got in the baking mood before we went on our weekend trip. But with the accident and the 2 hours delay I was up pretty late baking. But it all turned out delicious! I made yummy sugar cookies and pops with a strawberry glaze and vanilla frosting. And of course my rich Peanut butter mini fudge cupcakes topped off with mini heart cookie pops. I took the cookie bouquets and some of the cupcakes to work that day and the rest of the cookies and cupcakes to some neighbors.

Braxton's Birthday and Valentines Presents arrived on Valentines day!
He was so excited to get his presents.

 Yummy Chocolates!
Which we later opened and found out that they had melted in the mailbox. :)

Checking out his new Buzz Lightyear umbrella

This gummy sucker was delicious! and he devoured it very quickly

Catching up

I realized I was starting to get a little behind when I looked at my camera and realized I hadn't posted since Braxton's birthday. In the past two and a half week we have been studying, working, and trying to keep healthy. Braxton and I both came down with the horrible cough and cold bug that was going around. I had it for a full week and brax had it for about 5 days but he had fevers for 4 of those days. NOT FUN! Luckily Brandon hasn't caught it, don't know how he did it but I guess that's a good thing a sick husband is about as bad as a sick little kid. :)
So Here are just a few highlight pics from the past couple weeks.

mmmmmm...homemade marshmallows!

I'm not quite sure who likes bubbles more. The one blowing them or the two running at him biting them in the air.

To my shock I entered Braxton's room to find he had emptied an entire box of fruity dino bites cereal all over his room and was throwing it in the air like confetti. He was in so much trouble!

Hunting for bunnies with his golf club...silly boy

I finally got the opportunity to make an extremely fun cake!

I had this uncontrollable urge for chocolate cake one day so I whipped one up and oh my goodness it was sooooo rich! I could only eat one piece then I had to have a glass of milk.

This boy loves to SPIN!
He asks us to spin him the chair all the time.
But then he gets a little too dizzy for his own good. haha, he loves it still and jumps back on as soon as he's caught his balance.

With playing tug of war with the dogs and their rope we have discover that Cooper is stronger than Lucky! Who'd a thought the skinny one is stronger than the muscled one.

I left him in his room watching tv and when I came back I found him sound asleep in HIS BED!!!! I was so excited, you have no idea what a big accomplishment this was.
