Our (2) day trip

After our fun time at the BYU game we started our journey home to Idaho for Christmas. By the time we hit colorado a nasty storm hit and we watched the roads turn from water to slush to ice within  a few minutes. Luckily we had gotten early christmas presents for oursevles which was some new phones (Droids) so we had gps and internet so we were able to find where we were and were the closest town was. We had to back track about 10 miles but the snow and frozen roads weren't something we wanted to drive on. We ended up in Durango, CO and were able to find a cheap hotel that let us have our dogs for only $8 for the night. Braxton was so flipping excited to be out of the car, he was jumping on the beds and running around the room. 

 The dogs on the other hand were glad to be out of the car but not so much in the hotel, mainly cause we didn't want to risk the chance of territorial marking so they stayed in their cage or in the bathroom to eat.

 I dumped some ice into our little cooler that night and when I emptied it the next morning there was an ice cube completely frozen onto the stem of the apple, I could actually hold the ice cube and swing the apple around. I just thought it was cool.

 While we driving it was complete dessert and then there was this giant round mountain of rock with a hole that looked like a cave at the bottom. It was so cool! I really wanted to stop and go explore it, but that wasn't  an option.

 Our first full day in Idaho Falls I was able to meet with some of my girlfriends from chuck-a-rama and we took our kids Leo's Place to let them play while we ate and visited.

  I'm a lil frustrated that this came burry but I have this same picture of him when he was 1 year old.

 He won some candy out of a machine and one of them was a warhead, I told him it was a yucky candy, but he had to find out for himself. So I opened it and 

New Mexico Bowl!

We had the chance to live only a 4 hours away from from New Mexico where the New Mexico Bowl was hosting the BYU vs. UTEP game. And it just so happened to be on the same day that we were planning on leaving on anyways so Brandon got online and was able to get us the last two tickets on the second tier of bleachers on the 50 yard line! The were great seats and we had a really good time.

 We were worried that we would end up on the UTEP side but we were lucky enough to have accidentally bought tickets on the BYU side!  

 Brax got pretty grumpy/hungry so I went and stood in line to see what I could find him that he would actually eat and it came down to the $5 cheeseburger ( which is pretty much all I can get him to eat now days). He rejected it the first time I gave it to him because the cheese was white.  But then he realized how hungry he really was and so he took a bite and like it and almost finished the whole thing which was the size of his face.

 Can you find the lone BYU fan on the UTEP side?

I don't know if the guy planned on being over there by himself or if it was just the last seat he could get.

If you can't find him, look for the 20ft tall BYU flag! haha 

It was a good game and BYU whooped them with an end score of 52-24. 

Graham Cracker Houses and a early present

Brax has been discovering new ways to entertain himself over the past few weeks like stringing his toy phone cord between the couches and hanging hangers or "bows" as in bow and arrow on the cord to block us out of the front room.

He has also discovered how to play the games on our new phones such as basketball and the talking santa. On the Santa game his favorite part is to run Santa over with a giant snowball. He thinks its the funniest thing ever.

 For family night the other night we made gingerbread houses out of graham crackers. I had one and Brandon and Brax worked on the one and daddy gave up half way through and brax took over.

Playing like he was going to take a big bite out of it.

Box Legs!!! He walked around the house for about 10 minutes like this.

 Braxton snuck into the store room and grabbed a present out of the christmas box because I had to hid them from under the tree. I had the presents under the tree but every minute of every day, he was begging to open one and then when he was told "no" it turned into a complete melt down.

Luckily the one he had took was a simple cheap one.

He had fun hunting the dogs down and shooting them with foam discs.

Family Christmas Pictures

I really decided that i wanted to try and take some family pictures by ourselves.

So here is our attempts.

I asked Brandon to try and sit up straight and slightly stick his chin out naturally so that he wouldn't have a double chin which pretty much all of us have when we smile. I have been doing it for a while now and really notice a difference in my pictures. It turned out pretty funny while he was trying to figure it out.
