We have now lived here for 3 weeks and I think we are finally settled in and getting into the groove of things.
After unpacking our last box, I decided to turn it into a castle for brax to play in and also made a cardboard sword to go with it. He was in heaven, it was his little fort and he was the king!

Okay we basically came here to Thatcher mainly because Brandon could play college football like he always has wanted to. Well after a week of daily practices and nightly meetings along with a not so smart o-line coach who is completely rude and well a total JERK, Brandon was almost pushed to the edge of quiting. Brandon is not a quitter, especially on something he loves as much as football. But the push over the edge was when they were required to go in on SUNDAY for a meeting! SUNDAY? REALLY? So that made his decision so much easier and he went in on Monday and explained to the head coach who was so excited to have Brandon play in the first place about his decision. I asked him if he was okay with quiting. He told me that he wasn't having fun and he got out of it what he wanted. He had been put on starting 1st string, that was all he wanted to know was that he was good enough to play on a 1st string college team.
So the next week Brandon called the Head Coach at Thatcher High School and asked them if he could help coach, They didn't have a Line Coach so Brandon is now the Line Coach at the High School.
They had their 1st game this past Friday so Brax and I went to watch. I love High School games. and Brax had a lot of fun.
The cutest part was he cheered more for the cheerleaders and the mascot then the players. :)

He was awesome! A lot better than I thought he would be. At half time we went down to concessions and got him a popcorn for the rest of the game.

He did not like the band at all, or the cheering when something good happened.

He has been the pickiest little eater lately and so the other day I took out my cookie cutters and made his PB&J a teddy bear. He thought it was the coolest thing and ate 2 of them. So from now on he gets to choose a shape for his sandwiches.

I finally found a way to get my homework done without distractions. Example: Braxton and the TV. :) And he thinks he's pretty cool stuff when he has them on too. So here he is as cute as can be watching tv and eating his football PB&J.
The other day I saw 3 roadrunners, and one of those was in my backyard. They are so fast every time i get the camera they're gone. but I caught this one, kinda.

I looked up and saw braxton standing in the window watching the roadrunner with lucky and cooper was being annoying biting lucky's legs.

Then Cooper decided to join Brax up in the window.

Brax and I decided to be a little adventurous and go for a little nature walk around our property and we found 2 enormous ant hills which I went back out and killed them the next day. But we hiked up the little hill next to our house mostly cause I wanted to see what was on the other side.

And this is what I saw, no wonder we can always hear the coyotes howling and yipping.

Since it's been a little cooler this past week so I was out trying to get all the weeds surrounding our house chopped down. And while chopping on this side of the house I saw something odd and picked it up and it was a WALMART GIFT CARD! It was completely weathered and chipped. I was excited and curious to see it there was money on it. So I went inside and got online and typed in the barely there number and pin. Anxiously waited for the computer and there was $15 on it! Whoo Hoo! $15 is $15 baby! So my yard paid me for taking down all the nasty prickly weeds in it. haha :)

I forgot to take a before pic of this side, but you can see the pile of weeds.

and I also planted a few mums after getting all the weeds out. I'm going to get some marigolds in too, just to add some color.

I have started a sewing class and I love it!
It's a 4 hour night class, but it seems like and hour to me I enjoy it so much.
This Saturday I really wanted to try out the new stitches I learned so I went and got some cute fabric and made a valance for Braxtons room.

with matching pillow case. He loves them. When he first saw them both. He was in awe, it was " oh, wow! FOOTBALL!" I am also going to make a patchwork bedspread for him with this material and solid matching colors.

Brandon had this crazy idea to turn combine our curtains with these solar metallic curtains I bought online. The solar curtains are awesome, they keep out 100% of the heat. But as you can see really tacky and trashy looking hanging in the window. So I went and bought some similar black fabric to cover the metallic stuff.
So I laid down our original curtains and then pinned the solar one to it and sewed it on in a few spot to keep it in place. Then I covered it with the black material and sewed that on.

And check out the difference!
Total Black Out Curtains that will keep out the heat too!

This is going to be the fabric for my next project for class. I'm going to be making a top. I really hope I do well cause I think it's going to be super cute.
