Shaylee Lynn Hawkes

Little Miss Shalyee Lynn made her debut on June 28, 2013 weighing in at 7lbs 11oz and measuring 19". She is absolutely beautiful and we are all in love with this little angel.

Her original due date was Brandon's birthday, July 3, but as time went on that first week in July was getting more and more busy for us. Since she was not my first, the dr's let us be induced early. This was by far my weirdest and fastest labor, and easiest delivery.
We ended up being able to check into the hospital a little after 8am. I had eaten a little bit of fruit on our way and was ready to sit in a bed all day. They asked if the new nurse in delivery who was learning could assist and start my IV. Since it was just the IV I said yes. Big mistake. She couldn't hit my vein! Oh and my veins aren't small either. It hurt so much and then the needle wouldn't come out of my arm. We switched arms and had the experienced nurse get it in within a few seconds. Then the weirdness started. I started to get really dizzy, my blood pressure was dropping and almost I passed out. I've never ever had a problem with needles, blood, etc. This blood pressure issue continued the entire 9 hours until she arrived then I was completely fine. Shaylee's vitals were awesome the whole time, it was just me.
When i finally hit a ten, the dr. was finishing up with a delivery next door and they turned down my pitocin and told me not to sit up or push and that he'd be right in. Well an hour later he finally came in and 1 contraction and 3 short pushes and she was here with a head full of what looked like black hair.
There is actually a funny little story to our shock when we saw her hair. Brandon had been teasing me all day about whether or not she was his and saying if she has black hair we'll know. Well as soon as she arrived Brandon face went blank and then he smiled a little and said "Jen, she has black hair." Me: "Really? No way!" Then we both laughed about it and with every wash it kept getting lighter.

Yard Work After Winter and Renters and My Silly Boys

With our renters not caring for the yard as well as they should have and me being too tired last fall to get out and weed before the snow came I had a lot to do this spring.
It took me almost 2 weeks of Logan's naps to get this side done.
And luckily Brandon's family came over and ended up helping get this other horrid side all done and weeded. Then after that I laid down some weed proof fabric (which by the way is not completely weed proof, the grass still makes it's way through some how, but it does help a lot!) and then I planted a few flowers (a lot less then I normally do) and covered it all in mulch. It turned out looking great!

During one of my weeding sessions I had the sprinkler going (not where you see it in this pic keep in mind) and I could hear Braxton squealing with delight more than usual I peeked around the house and saw that the water was not where I left it. So I picked myself up off the ground and started walking into the backyard to find this sight.
Braxton had snuck into the house and put on "Logan's" swim suit (which left his bum hanging out) and moved the water to jump on the trampoline.
In the end he had a crying melt down when I made him go in the house and get into a "luke warm" bath which he said was burning his skin cause he was so numb and then getting dressed.

This pic was just funny, he actually has pants on. He would bend over and grab his pants at his ankles then pull them up as high as he could then laugh and walk around like this.

Braxton drew our family :)

Cutie Pie!

Meet "Mr. Klutz".
We were cleaning up before bed one night and he was not helping with the toys so I left them for him to do one way or another. Well, he came running in laughing and the next thing I knew he was on the floor screaming in agony. He had tripped over one of the toys that he had still not picked up and punctured a small hole in his forehead on the corner of the couch (so glad it wasn't the metal table). So I cleaned him up and put a bandage on it and then an ice pack wrapped in a towel. He could not for the life of him keep that darn thing on his head. So I came up with this. I had so old control top nylons that I never wore anymore and so I cut the tight control top off of them and wrapped it around his head to keep the ice on. It worked amazingly well.

After the swelling had gone down. I forgot to take a picture before the ice, it was one giant goose egg.

Logan assisting Daddy with his homework by pulling his hair out one by one.
He thought it was hilarious to try and lick my leg and make me squirm.

Matching jammie buddies!

Daddy's Birthday/Happy Brothers

Since Shaylee was only 5 days old on Brandon's birthday we decided to go over to his parents house for dinner and the ice cream cake I had made before Shay was born and had waiting in the freezer. Logan was pretty funny, all he wanted to do was blow out the candles.

This is actually our first family picture since we forgot to get one at the hospital.
Logan still just wanted the fire and Shaylee's little bow is falling over her eyes, but oh well we got a family pic.

On the 5th and 6th my mom was here while brandon took Braxton up camping to the Hawkes family reunion.
All Logan wanted and wants to do is hold her and kiss her. He's getting softer, but it's still terrifying for me when he wants to have her.
So Proud of himself for being soft! :)
Now for some cute pics of Brax and Shay. Logan was tired so he was chilling on the couch.

Can't forget the boys!

I love this little monkey even though I feel like pulling my hair out most days every time I turn around and find another mess.

When Shaylee came home we had presents for the boys. Logan got a silly baby doll for him to "baby" and Brax got this soccer ball sprinkler.  The darn thing sprayed so far we had to put it on the tramp so the net would stop the direct sprays from hitting the neighbors home and ours.

Both out cold :)
Yummy ice cream cone after lunch!

And a few more of our little sweet pea!
